One Nation Under Bureaucracy

One Nation Under Bureaucracy

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Cellblock gypsies

Bargain basement hearts,

Embrace the emptiness,

Steal away damnation;

      One nation without…

      Humanity,

            Salvation.

Only the long arm of democracy

That holds on to the long arm of…

      Gravity; and it is known

What goes up must come down.

So goes the cycle,

Recycled from the grave,

Exonerated from hell

For the purpose of

      Jealousy, retribution.

Penance lost; adrift

      In a sea of fear.

Tears in a vial; becomes acid

      When spilled on newborn flesh.

The hard line between eternity

And an enigma

      Suffocates reality,

      Sophisticates generations,

      Complicates unity…

Forbidden structures become

Unholy temples under the watchful…

      Eye in the sky,

      Translucent hypocrisy

            Clipped wings of freedom;

Fear the new “F” word

In the land of the faceless

And the land of the blasphemers.

I agree with the other harsh but the truth hurts sometimes. Your words are powerful and fearless. I love all of your work but I have to say this is one of my favorites. Nicley done.

Holy crap, i think i could quote every single line of this poem (with your permission of course). They're that good. This is a harsh, yet shockingly realistic portrait of what our nation, of what our generation, has become.
Well done.

My Goodness... this was harsh, hardcore yet very bold and brave,
the words you use to describe our Nation makes me want to take
the next rocket to Mars!! I really found it deep and raw..
awesome... my favorite part..

You ROCK! There is no question! My favorite line was ---Cellblock gypsies---there are many others I liked but this one just stood out to me. I wonder if you have been reading Ed Hart's blog? This is amazing and it is definitely my favorite poem of yours hands down!!
