Third Eye Warning

Third Eye Warning

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Hypnotic reenactment

Is the quickest way

To perfect vision;

Side effect-

Harmful to those

Who love you

       Just as you are.

Cause and effect

Is a given,

Going way beyond hindsight.

To see a cloudy sky

Doesn’t mean the sun

Is not burning through your soul.

Why use the crystal ball

When you can step in quicksand?

Keep that third eye blindfolded

Or you may miss the here and now.

I see your point about third eye blinded....why live in tomorrow when we are here right now....but today is a yesterday that we set up the day before yesterday - i get it i get it.....what's promised today? the present...it's our gift :) thank u for that wonderful and creative reminder :)

Great write! I have truly missed reading your work and I love the message. Living in the now is something I have recently learned to practice and I only wish I would have sooner. You are a pretty smart guy indeed.

I say keep the third eye open...a warning for things
to come:).

You've got some of the best lines ever in this. I love:

To see a cloudy sky
Doesn’t mean the sun
Is not burning through your soul

Another great job.

i love tool so kudos there.

as for the poem, i took it as what the 'third eye' is to you. i think we all have a different perspective of the third eye but this is a great write. what a great way to capture it. well done.

Im with Kelly one this one, you left me speechless for abit. You forced me to really think about this one! Maybe it's ok to keep blindfolded but take a peek once in awhile or when necessary? Hmmmm... I love this one, my wheels will be turning for awhile, lol. Definatly going into the favs!

Never knowing exactly what tomorrow can bring has always been something most folks worry about from time to time. ... not being able to change the future because we cannot know it. Exactly. And well said, too.

This is fascinating. Gives newness to 'Hindsight is 20/20'
This packs a 'powerful punch' as they say (somewhere.lol)
And may I say, it's damn hard to find someone to love you
just as you are, in even the best of circumstance.

A blessing to read, thank you!

Peace n Light

Your poems always have the best messages in the most creative ways and I think you out did yourself with this one. The message is something we all should follow. The lines:
"Why use the crystal ball
When you can step in quicksand?"
It's like you have to make mistakes to learn from them so don't take the easy way out. Dive into the quicksand and see what happens it might not be so bad.
