Mechanical Rhythms

Mechanical Rhythms

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

The heart beats to a rhythm

But not always the same one.

The pace depends on the feeling

Or emotions flowing through it.

Poetry for me is emotions

In its purest form

So why taint it with

Rules and regulations.

I can only be me

So when I speak in verse

Forget the mechanical rhythms,

I’ll leave that to the text books.

Yes! I leave it to the textbooks too. Critics are afraid of something different. They are afraid that all their rules will suddenly bend in the sight of NEW talent. New styles are what art is all about. You can't teach someone how to paint with a text book!

Cool piece Rock and Roll Cowboy. Great name by the way hahaha.
