The Fantasy Of Life And Death

The Fantasy Of Life And Death

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

How right is rain

When a rainbow

Is nature’s greatest illusion?

Then again it is also

The greatest prop

On the grandest stage

Of them all

Where some go by script

And others are a master

Of improv.

So then what of the clouds?

Are they the curtain call?

If so why does the show

Still go on?

Let every wisp of every wind

Be the standing ovation

So we lease not forget

The feeling of glory.

Walk amongst those

In the background

Now and them

So you can remember

The reason for which

You came,

For the sun maybe your spotlight

But the moon is your savior.

When all is said and done

The thunder will be the greatest fear

Still the lightning is the answer.

That is why only the smartest know

You will never have peace on earth

Till you are one with her womb

Cause that is when you come full circle

And fulfill your destiny.

This is fantastic and very profound, very deep in meaning, at least I think so.

Two small things:

"So we lease not forget --> lease?
The feeling of glory."

"For the sun may (space in between ) be your spotlight
But the moon is your savior."

The introductory question to "The Fantasy of Life and Death" is fantastic:

"How right is rain
When a rainbow
Is nature’s greatest illusion?"

From there, you expound beautifully on this grand accretion within which we are bound. The circle of life and death is just that – a circle. What’s in the middle is what we make of it.

“Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy S**t, what a ride!"

Ohhhh Goodness me...This is truly spiritual with beauty beyond recognition. I always teach my creche kids "whenever you see a rainbow..remember God is love"...That's what flashed through my head as I read this.

It is a wonderful piece CB.

This whole piece is wonderful. I think you were feeling a bit philosophical when you wrote it. It makes me think about how we're always wanting something better. Really pretty job on this.

I think that we're never satisfied. it's never enough to have fame and glory, and just how far are people willing to go to achieve that? or attempt to, because in the end we never get exactly what we want. and it's best that way.

beautiful write.

What a wise and insightful writing of living and appreciating life. Your skillful pen takes the reader on a trip of in depth observation on what life is truly about and the results of death in not living it properly. I love the verses..."Let every wisp of the wind...Be the standing ovation"....."Walk amongst those... In the background"....This work is so filled with the skilled word artistry of your pen. There is truly no way to pick out just a few favorite lines. It captures the readers attention from start to finsih. I do not know from where you drew inspiration for this piece, but it shows your great talent and thought process as a writer. You wield a creative pen from which the ink of everflowing thoughts and emotions continuely erupt.

This was a beautiful piece. Very metaphorically expressed. The words flow and the deep aspect of it was really what made it thoughtful and amazing.
