Stone Cold Break

Stone Cold Break

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Disintegrating thoughts

Put the pain in play.

Ashes scatter in the wind

Like childhood dreams

On graduation day.

Burned by the flame

Is easier said then done

When the chill of your lying breath

Put snowcaps on the heart.

Years of winters effects

Can’t be undone by a moment

Of the mid summer sun.

If thoughts of global warming

Turn into souls stealing prayers

It is time to seek refuge

Beneath a spiritual avalanche

For though it is set in stone

Least not forget

That even rock crumbles

When continually dropped

From the highest point.

I love the depth of meaning in this powerful piece. Such a story of the way life moves, through different stages, turbulent times, how some memories define lives and others seem to destroy the spirit. Yet in the end we are all vunerable no matter how strong we think we are....for in the end we are all ashes, and return to the earth...but the inpact we leave on the lives of our loved one's keeps us alive forever.

Indeed we all do have our breaking point, and with life and the ups and downs, the seasons of hope, and dreams that go unfulfilled, dreams that come true but only last long enough to be a mid season in the sun, we must constantly be striving to better ourselves and our world, for even with God and His many blessings, there are situations/problems whice He leaves up to us to determine the outcome. Choices,......good, bad? Too many bad ones may surely cause even stone cold to crumble away!
Your write has much depth and I am sure will be interpreted in different ways. Our life's past causes as much.
Wonderful write my friend!!

Great imagery describing how life is, its ups and downs, how we can become
weak, how we struggle and try to just cope and keep on going but that
we all can fall apart. That's what your poem spoke to me.

The imagery really is great, very impressive.
Really love your poem.

Ok Cowboy,
you cease to amaze me. You have the ability to write comedy, erotica, heartbreak, philosophical pieces. Very talented man you are. This is an outstanding piece. Layers within layers, which allow the reader to read, re-read and take away new things each time. Very proud of you, Dale. Excellente'!!!

This is truly an amazing piece. Your imagery and metaphoric use are perfect here. Describing what one might feel during a break up or even loss. Absolutely a brilliant piece. Sorry also I am behind on some of your work. Today is catch up day.

My favorite lines:
"Ashes scatter in the wind
Like childhood dreams
On graduation day."
Love it. It's a beautiful write and I'm trying to figure out what it's about. I'm thinking about life and growing up and the ups and downs and sometimes even the strong can't get back up when they are let down too much? Maybe? Either way I think it is great.
