The Humanity Of Autumn

The Humanity Of Autumn

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

My favorite season

"

I inhale a deep breath …

The feel of that cool crisp air

Traveling through my lungs

Reminding me of the purity

That exists in the souls

Of those who believe

In the call of the wild

So never cage

What born in my heart.

I take along walk…

Hearing the rustle of leaves

Wrestling beneath my feet

Is a wake up call to my dreams

That even when they fall

There is still the beauty

Of when they were growing

And can return

When the time is right.

Season come and seasons go,

Each  with special emotions,

Always teaching us

If we’d just listen.

But there’s something about autumn

With all its changes

And up and down essence

That I can relate to as a human.

Yes, I love Autumn too. Unfortunately here in southern Cal we don't get the colors like everyone else. Eventually I would like to live somewhere where I can experience the four seasons. But our summers and winters can't be beat!!

Very pretty poem. Refreshing look at just nature and all of its breathtaking beauty!

You managed to capture the essence of Autumn in this lovely poem. It's an emotional time for many as you clearly point out. One can feel excitement, sadness, loneliness, or just plain down right happiness. Great work. Smiles M.

As I read your words of wisdom of the fall, I can close my eyes and just see the hills and woods alive with the awesome colors of the season...the reds, yellows, oranges setting the scene aglow with their brilliance!
You have taken us through the season of rest, and as you say

Hearing the rustle of leaves
Wrestling beneath my feet
Is a wake up call to my dreams
That even when they fall
There is still the beauty
Of when they were growing
And can return
When the time is right

....when the time is right, each emotion may spring forth again - even those thought gone forever. Perhaps they are just resting to become even stronger in the spring of the spirit!

Beautiful write!!

A very beautiful poem. The way you describe autumn just reminds me again why I love this time of year so much. Your words and the fall season are both breathtaking.

An excellent write.

You're right. There is alot to be learned from autumn. There's a lot of change and renewal in the season which as humans we can all relate to so some level. Great job on the poem.

Liked this a lot. A pleasant image of the season, and a reminder that humans are a part of nature too, eventhough we leave it and really mess it up a lot of times. Makes me want to go for a walk in the woods.
