Midnight Emotions

Midnight Emotions

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Lip lock promises

Subtle persuasion,

Twist of fate

Or twist of Cain?

Eagle eyed stare

Glimpse of denial,

Quicksand to heaven

In memories betrayal.

Juxtapose noises

Makes thinking surreal,

Mix and matching emotions

Creates plastic heart attack.

Steal plated hand shake

Rusts any promises,

Recycling fortunes

Isn’t worth the price.

To deal with the devil

Is to deal with yourself,

The truth of tomorrow

Starts with lies of the past.

Time to wake up

Without an alarm,

Even in an eclipse

The sun never stops.

Midnight Emotions has something to do with seeing oneself; come to face to face with own self without the mask. It is about knowing the lies and truth about existence, which I believe, it's something that we rarely engage in bec we fear facing our own demons. Nonetheless, i like the flow of this piece bec it trudges on the path toward light. Those are words from a wise man.

Each passage is truly a world in itself.. filled with vivid emotional imagery and vast thoughts that carry across time (twist of Cain) and space... What awakens us in dead of night, and stirs thoughts so provoking.

'To deal with the Devil is to deal with yourself' Quite a statement Dale and the more I ponder on that piece of wisdom the clearer it becomes...a frightening thought it is...and a valid one! It would be better for all mankind to let the Devil fry and concentrate on the goodness that somehow through the mire still exists.
This piece is brilliant with a profound message :-)

Cheers,

Helen~

This is another one full of pain, longing, regret, and people who throw hearts around. I'll never understand why people think that they can treat others in this way.

Sometimes it seems like life delivers a lot of pain and sorrow to us. Your poem is very sad, but also pretty deep. I liked the line:

The truth of tomorrow
Starts with lies of the past

Its true that our past flavors the present. Great job on this one.

To deal with the devil
Is to deal with yourself,
The truth of tomorrow
Starts with lies of the past.

Almost reads like a tongue twister. Great flow to it...fast and furious. Sort of like the emotions and questions spoken here. Super!
