Single Red Rose

Single Red Rose

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

She sits there with grace

Like a single red rose

In a bed of white carnantions.

One lonely tear

Trickles down her cheek

Like a raindrop gliding

Down a soft petal.

Does she not see the beauty

Her existence brings

To a world lost in the grey?

Being alone is not the result

Of blending in to this garden

But being a bloom amid permanent buds.

Not yet has she found that suitor

Worthy to smell the classy fragrence

That tickles the nose of humanity.

While all those carnations

Are good for a moment scented pleasure

That single rose is worthy

Of a lifetime of admiration.

Dale, we certainly do see your soft and romantic side in this eloquent write of a lady of grace among a world that perhaps does not accept nor understand her. You have many lovely lines, but I especially like the line about the tear sliding down her cheek like a raindrop falling on the petals!
Very beautiful, and quite endearing!
This goes in my fav's file, as it is always a joy to read of the red rose of love!

Beautiful. Reminds me of my sister. Think I'll be sure to show this to her. Very touching, and a wonderful sentiment.

This is a beautiful piece. I like very much the analogy of the woman and the red rose.

Even the most beautiful rose wants to be touched, though... not just admired from afar. Don't you think?
I loved the way your lines flowed on this, and showed us how you view this woman, as if looking through your eyes. The rose, with her velvety softness and blush of color, is a perfect metaphor. A very classy lady captured your heart... I hope you were at least able to win hers.

Absolutely a beautiful and sentimental writing. A woman that questions her desirability compared to other womens. Seeking to find what is the problem that no one has chosen her, looking for the reason no one seems to find her desirable, not realizing that she has many wonderful qualties that the young buds lack and her prince just has not yet caught her seductive fragrance. Such a soft side that you show with this wonderful work that looks at the inner depth of a woman and points out the desirability she encases within. There are many sides to this wild hearted cowboy and this is one of the most admirable. Your pen created soft caresses across a satin page of outpouring of admiration for the fairer gender.

^.^ Awww.....THIS is why women have always loved cowboys!! *blush*

You are certainly a complex man, Mr. Cowboy...I will say that! So romantic and sexie, this piece is! All women LOVE to be singled out like this, compared to something so beautiful, so intricate, so different and special.

I KNOW you just wrote this for me....LOLZ. Just kidding! :P

Once again, absolutely great job. You never cease to amaze the female population. Keep it up!! ;)

Very sweet romantic piece. Kind of reminds me of one of those classic Victorian poems. I really liked the soft feel to this. It truly feels sweet and very pretty. Very well done.
