Purple Moon

Purple Moon

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

The power of love can be equated to the power of the moon's gravitational pull on earth, unstoppable.

"

Under the beautiful glow

Of this purple moon

I can see a future full of

Radiant love and tenderness.

Mesmerized by it’s magnetic passion

And raw poetic soul

I am blissfully pulled closer

With no desire to resist.

Even during lunar eclipses

And cloudy nights

The connection cannot be broken

To the moon’s devoted embrace.

Through gale force winds

And torrential downpours

The lunar light will always

Guide and protect me.

I in kind will faithfully

Cherish all the wonders

That the smiling face offers me

Not asking for a reflection in return.

From this day forth I will never hide

In shadows and holes

That her glow could never find.

Such a beautiful tribute to the moon.. it's been admired for thousands of years for it's mystic beauty.. it's spiritual power.. and provides solace to lonely souls and lovers alike.. I really loved the depth of this one.. You have such a way with words ... and in any weather this moon shall be there for you like that guardian angel hovering overhead lighting your way even when you pay it no attention. I also felt a sense of renewed passion through your ending.. as though you lost this great friend and found her again.. her light filling your soul with solace and life:

From this day forth I will never hide
In shadows and holes
That her glow could never find

Finding love in the elements we are lucky to have around us.. the moon is certainly a dependable and worthy love.. as well as the sun.. the water.. the air we breathe that flows with aromas.. the flowers.. trees.. everything we wake up to that surrounds us daily can be upheld in so many ways.. it will not fail us. I could keep going on that.. but will not.. lol.. really enjoyed the wisdom and strength that comes from this! =)

Anytime you include the moon the poetry oozes romance. By some of your reviews you have done just that. It flowed very nice and the poem contained a pulse that we all need to remain alive. Your poem has hit the spot for your many readers. Standing "O".

When one gazes at the moon, and is bathed in the multitude of moonbeams of love that fall to delight the hearts of its admirers, we cannot resist its power. The gravitational pull is so strong, as you have noted. The way you have equated it to lasting love, and a desire to always be awed by it so lovely! How I would like to be under a purple moon at this moment!
This is an exquisite write and I am putting it in my fav's file as it is just wonderful!!

I wasn't really dazzled until I read this:
From this day forth I will never hide

In shadows and holes

That her glow could never find.
I have never heard anything more sureal. I could've cried. I swear you could write a book and just write those words in it and everybody would want it. Take it off the website. Don't let anybody steal it. This is amazing literature that cannot be mishandled.

You took the power of the celestial heavens and encompassed the emotional power of love within the same magical circle. Both have the ability to magnetically draw two objects into the same orbit. The tides of the ocean are controlled by the gravitational pull of the illustrious perpetrator of love Mr. Moon. Just like the gravitational pull of two people in love responds with the same motion of the surging and receding of the evening tides. A beautifully written piece that shows a side of you that needs to come out more often. "Through gale force winds...And torrential downpours...The lunar light will always guide and protect me." Much like through the worse trials and devistating parts of life, the true love of your soulmate will strive to keep you in the protection of their love. But maybe this is truly a rendition to your love of the celestial bodies above and the protection they offer you with the hope of what may exist just beyond our reach. Adding that magical quality to our life of wishing and the wish being granted by the gods and goddesses of our universe. Very visual and truly a beautiful poetic rendering of the feeling of love for something other than yourself.

Love is as strong as the moon's pull, you're so right! This was so beautiful and tender and romantic... I love anything having to do with the moon so you automatically got a thumbs up from me, haha. But seriously, this was absolutely stunning, amazing piece :]
