A Day Like No OtherA Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
As I watched the sun begin to set down Into the ocean, scarlet red upon reflection, An euphoric scent rode in On an off shore breeze Like a surfer catching the perfect wave. It was far too sweet to be jasmine, And much too delicate to be from a rose… I knew is it was a sign That this was to be a day like no other; Then out of the blue You appeared. Walking along the shoreline, Watching the sun cascade off your curves The moment was more magical Then if a mermaid would’ve appeared. For so long you have been my hope for humanity Faith in friendship Belief in being myself Now standing before, staring into… Sincere eyes, I know I can believe in things I don’t see. As I watch your soft lips While you speak to me of life, love and memories I can feel compassion seeping into my skin, Suddenly I feel beauty from within. Gracing me with one day in your presence Was the greatest gift beyond anything material. For though we are back to messages in a bottle That day was more valuable then any Sunken treasure that could be discovered beneath the ocean. © 2009 The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Featured Review
