A little something for a contest bout music

  

Every time I hear that melody playing

In the back of my mind

It always takes me back

To another to another time.

That mighty power ballad

Always makes me think of

The very first girl

I ever really loved.

Those haunting lyrics

Pierce my heart true

Back to the fateful time

She said we were through.

When I hear that beautiful tune

Those fond memories appear

Reminding me that her heart

I will always hold dear.

Music is a like an aphrodisiac

To the heart and brain

Stimulating old thought and feelings

Like they were yesterday.

Music is such a beautiful and amazing being. I say being because all music takes on a life of it's own and, as you point out, brings up memories of the past- good and bad. It's also magical I think. And everyone can relate to this no matter who they are since music is universal! This was a fantastic piece, amazing job :]

beautiful. i love music. it is the soundtrack of our lives. there are so many times, i hear a song, think about a certain person, or a certain age, or a certain place, that i otherwise would have probably forgotten. "Those haunting lyrics Pierce my heart true" favorite lines. you've hit it right on the head with this one, every1 can relate to it. a gorgeous piece of work as always :)
