Red Rose Kisses

Red Rose Kisses

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

I breathe in when I know you’re near

To capture the scent of new life you bring,

Like the smell of fresh fallen rain.

I breathe out when you’re not around

For the element of life seems to be missing

As if my heart were floating in space.

I would wonder these harsh plains forever

For just one feel of your red rose kisses

So I can experience paradise just once.

Intoxicating lovelust.. the flow of emotions and senses truly leaves a sense of a very high level of attraction. The comparison of one's red rose kisses and experiencing a paradise just once.. and the willingness to wander harsh plains forever to reach it.. truly striking. An inspiration to read .. with very sensuous feelings. This is deep.. lusting at the mere presence of another.. and then the heart feeling empty at their absence. Can be the feelings of a truly captivating romance.. trapped and spellbound.. such a whirlwind of emotions. Passion bleeds through this writing.. so many can relate to such real raw emotions.. with many being left numb in realistic rejection or fear of pursuit. Your ending implies you have never known such paradise.. leaving me sad .. as everyone is worthy of finding such a place in the world with loving arms to embrace them. I sincerely hope you find your true life's soulmate.. and daily inspiraton. Thank you so much for sharing.. this one is sure to touch so many hearts..=)

This makes me want to sigh because it's so beautiful. I love the imagery and the sounds that you create with your word. I can hear the rain falling and see this beautiful world of love.

A sweet, plaintive yearning for that love we all seek to eventually find. Well, said, Dale!
One minor note: Should "wonder" in the third stanza perhaps be "WANDER"?

How captivatingly beautiful. Every woman should be loved this way by a man at least once in her life.

I love red roses and always felt the significance in them in comparison to a lover. They deeply reveal so much about the romance that is held in the beauty, or fragrance, and the telling depths that leave one wanting more. Your poem recreated that in me tonight. Although when not holding the perfect rose (in your heart) you still are able to dream, and believe that it exists. Thank you for sharing this gift with me.
The imagery was lovely.

Well penned.

After reading the first two verses, I was wondering how you were going to tie the title to the poem. You didn't let me down. This is a sad piece though, it has the feel of separation or love that hasn't yet gone past friendship to the physical.

"Like the smell of fresh fallen rain." - I love that scent,
I even have it in a body wash called "Rain kissed leaves"!

This is an outstanding master piece you have composed of, Dale! I'm pretty blown away. First thing I've actually read so far as accepting you back into my core, and you've struck it pretty hard with this one. A gush of romantic just seeped back into my lifeless soul after being a little punching bag to reckless love for so long.
