![]() Silent Night, Deceptive LightA Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
My mind can’t escape These melancholy thoughts Highlighted by lunar lies. The infinite illusion Of midnights passion Covers my heart with The darkest of desires Disguised by a twinkle of hope That may have already faded out. Somewhere between the shadows And the dark Lurks the pains of never was And the agony of could be. Selfless acts begin to feel like self defeat When my reflection is distorted From ripples in the moon lit lake. Jumping in becomes an instant obsession In hopes of becoming wet behind the ear again. So I make splash and dive right under To drown out the silence of the night Only to discover the silence screamed from within. Now… Sinking like a stone I say nothing Cause I didn’t when I was breathing. © 2009 The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Featured Review
