Sweet Venom

Sweet Venom

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Your venomous bite

Makes my body ache

Still I crave another.

Feeling the poison

Burning up my veins

I close my eyes to dream,

Now space and earth

Are one in the same.

No more confusion

Being lost in infinity.

Thoughts so entwined

Yet everything makes sense.

Inside this world of illusion

Has made everything clear.

Angels turning to demons

In the blink of an eye,

Your sweet venom

Has made everything right.

Would like to think this is about love. Alas there are two types and they are both physically and psychologically connected. But with the vein involved, I feel there are two choices either you are making love to a concubine of a vampire or the girl with the golden eyes has her needle like clutches in you.
I love this piece it draws on the emotions and gives a deep insight to desire. Whether it be lust or chemical. Both can be addictive.

Wonderfully penned. i was led into this poem first by the avatar and the title, "sweet venom", what a great title!! it kind of had a scorpion touch in this one, and a vampire feel as well. i thought it was very poetic and an interesting read. thanks.

When we're caught up in the senses of love and need for someone, everything around us, the badness of the world, the problems we may be facing etc, disappears and just for a wee while, we are left in the illusion of ecstasy. Excellent write, thank you:)

It is amazing how different people see different things in your poems. Rather than seeing anything about love, I saw it more as something a drug addicted person might write. You cleverly pen an ambiguous write that can be seen in various lights. Nice job!

When pain is pleasure. A good taste of that sour part of lust. The fine lines of it all.

She's got you hoodwinked my boy. Look away. Look away. ;)

Good write. Loved it. Such temptation to fill one up. Kudos.

that's actually pretty sexy writing. it read kind of like it should have trance music going in the background.

Oh this is hot! That venomous bite.. that obssessive craving! I can really feel this one.. or at least the carnal side of me can relate!!! This is the apple from the garden of eden.. that sweet lust so many crave and fight off.. someone sure made you see the light!!! That is what I took from it.. body aching.. I sense an addiction to someone really sensuous flowing through this.. an addiction to their full being.. thank you for sharing!!! =)

We want what's bad for us, how come we don't want what's good for us?

The poem makes me think of a movie about a woman, who had many lovers/husbands, and killed them off, thus she earned the name "black widow", but for the life of me, I can't remember the name?

I love the imagery in this poem, I can see the man seduced by the enticing "black widow" :)
