I Thou Sacrifice

I Thou Sacrifice

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Under this relentless red sky

I shall endure

To bring color to your barren soul.

For there is no greater deed

Then to know that my parchment

Means new life

To your thirsty emotions.

You can drain me of my strength

Yet I shall never become your weakness.

Wrap my stem around your heart,

I promise that my thorns

Shall only make you bleed

What thy needs…

The sins of yesterday,

The mistakes of tomorrow.

For to be the rose

That keeps thy desires from wilting

I thou sacrifice.

Damn Dale, you are getting better and better. i love this poem, absolutely love it. so sincere, so romantic and passionate, and like a bryan adams song, "everything i do i do it for you." The metaphors in this piece are off the chain, and they all work well together, and end with the analogy of a rose, and instead of a cliche of talking about a woman being the rose, YOU are the rose. nice touch. thanks for sharing.

This was absolutely beautiful, cowboy. *smile* I loved every line of it, and especially the parts about bringing colour and new life. I can tell that you put so much thought and feeling into this one. Wonderful. =)

Such a powerful poem.
To sacrifice oneself for another, out of pure love.
Something that people scorn because our society often emphasizes this idea that self is always more important.
Great to see that not everyone is taken up by that kinda storm.
As a romantic though, this appealed to me even more.
Great write.

Yours truly,

Spoken with the heart of a true romantic, you have taken the delicate rose as a means of sacrifice, of protection and of endless love and desire. From "the relentless red sky" to "I thou sacrifice" you have created a beautiful love song the melody forever softly playing.

Powerfully spoken, the sacrifice for love and all that love desires. Vivid work with perfect, soft flow. So wonderful to read.
