I Thou Sacrifice

I Thou Sacrifice

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Under this relentless red sky

I shall endure

To bring color to your barren soul.

For there is no greater deed

Then to know that my parchment

Means new life

To your thirsty emotions.

You can drain me of my strength

Yet I shall never become your weakness.

Wrap my stem around your heart,

I promise that my thorns

Shall only make you bleed

What thy needs…

The sins of yesterday,

The mistakes of tomorrow.

For to be the rose

That keeps thy desires from wilting

I thou sacrifice.

Damn Dale, you are getting better and better. i love this poem, absolutely love it. so sincere, so romantic and passionate, and like a bryan adams song, "everything i do i do it for you." The metaphors in this piece are off the chain, and they all work well together, and end with the analogy of a rose, and instead of a cliche of talking about a woman being the rose, YOU are the rose. nice touch. thanks for sharing.

Delicate and careful. Sounds like the devotion of a slave-lover. Helpless and hopeless yet always entrapped in his/her master's being.

this is lovely mister cowboy... it seems like in healing with such selfless love, that some amount of healing will be received as well? truly, that is what this is about, love that doesn't judge, harbor ill feelings or put forth demands... simply by giving because it is needed...
this one really seems about healing and is so well done... thank you for posting it
