Let It Flow

  

To rhyme

       Or not to rhyme

Is that really the question?

When it comes to expressing

Personal feelings.

 

Conforming to structure

Seems so absurd

Poetry is from the heart

And should be as unpredictable

As human emotions.

 

It should flow from soul

Not leak from the mind.

 

So when reading poetry

Look at it like a person

Not a robot…

 

This isn’t science, Its human nature.

 

Rhyming is great

But so is opening the gates

And letting your passion run wild

As long as it is from the heart

You can never go wrong.

 

So just open up and let it flow!!

Can't figure out why some think poetry has rules and regulations, human emotions don't and that is what poetry is about or should be... we all have our way of expressing it... as long as it is from the heart you can't go wrong.

Amen, amen, amen.....I could not agree more...all this hoopla about perfect form, rhyme syllables has my head spinning, but all I want to do is write to expess myself and have fun, and entertain!!

Well, I do like poetry with structure, but free form always seems more powerful to me. Like this one here, for example. ^-^

same. i agree. not many of my poems ryhme and thats because it doesnt need to it just makes things harder some times. and my aunt agrees, shes a poet herself and she doesnt even know the other types of poems. lool
but i think a poem is just yourself

Very well said. And who knows more about not submitting to structure and traditional pattern more than I? You're absolutely right about it being about expression and originality. I have no idea what number and letter counts are and all that s**t! Great piece and your point is not only made, but agreed with!
