Imperfect

Imperfect

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

It’s like a bed of roses

When in bloom nothing

Is more beautiful, yet it has many thorns

That will get under your skin

On occasion… but worth it

When it flourishes for heaven to see.

It resembles a sparkling stream

Flowing so naturally with grace,

Though sometimes chilly

It remains crystal clear

And can make you feel refreshed

When life over heats you.

It can be compared to the sky

Changing moods day to day,

And though sometimes

It can’t be seen through the pain

You know it still exists

And goes on forever.

Love to me seems just like nature

            Perfectly imperfect.

Your beautiful poem reminds us all how much we can learn from the natural world we inhabit. Through the simple beauty of a rose to the grace of a flowing stream and the moody wonderment of the sky above we are all perfectly imperfect. It is what makes us who we are and who we become when touched by love. Getting lost in the vastness of the sky as to look into your lover's eyes and know it goes on forever. Very nicely done.

I ADORE THIS! Jon and I always talk about how everyone says “love takes work.” Love seriously just seems like nature to me. You hit it spot on, amazing as usual! :)

Now you have stolen my line that I have been using for years. Perfect imperfectly. that is how I describe ones soul mate ones true other half. I love this poem for its honesty that is woven beautifully by using nature as a metaphor. I love the stanza about the sky and how pain can hide behind clouds. I am the master of smiling when my heart is crying tears of sorrow that rock the foundation of my soul. Those who know us can see our hidden flaws and can see past the forefront of the shield we throw up. Being vulnerable is hard and even harder for men. Not a sexist statement but a true one for men are taught early to be protectors and the strength when all is falling apart. Women are strong, but fragile in the inside and if you are lucky enough you just might get to see the fragile part. I love this write for it has made me think on many different things as you can see. In depth look at emotions.

What soothing and comforting imagery you've posed here; i enjoyed the natural essence compared to the wilderness and the struggle or prize to love.
