Empire To Ashes, Dust To Hope

Empire To Ashes, Dust To Hope

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Among these fiery ruins

Of this once great empire

Are the scatter ashes

Of Liberty’s written word

Caused by the price of freedom…

Never to rise like the Phoenix.

Crushed beneath the ruble

Is the foundation of hope

And the dreams of yesteryear

All from the effect of the war

Against unattainable glory…

Unable to fly with the eagles again.

Spiraling pride…

              Ignorant madness

       Left the mighty pillars anemic.

Hypocritical logic…

               Mirrored trust

       Weakened the defenses immune system.

All eyes are focused on

These miles of destruction

As the hearts of the world

See this as the end

While I look upon it as

              A beginning!!

Whoa Cowboy.....getting deep and philosophical on us here! But, this is absolutely wonderful and you have great depth in the way you look at past civiliations, and compare the failure of nations to man rising again....could be a nation, could be one man!...a man striving to be the best, the winner, yet unattainable, until he comes out of the ashes with that new opportunity.
Out of every defeat, is a victory. A rising out of the ashes to overcome!....truly a new beginning!
Awesome write with great insight and will to survive!!!

This was absolutely amazing. It was deep and eye opening. Your words were harsh yet they offered a note of hope. Keep writing like this, it suits you and you do an amazing job with it!

So much Truth in your poem. One good example is to look back to World Wars, learning from our losses, build and rebuild a Country so many times from the inside out, for the better. A awesome write my friend.
God Bless

You did it again.

This was a different write for you. You are right wars are an end and a beginning, and almost all nations have fallen and some have never risen again, rome! It is hard for one land to control the world and yet people are still trying to get that glory at all cost. I really like this one, it is a well focused poem with a true message~
