Singing

Singing

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

Music can invoke so many different feelings and bring back many memories... even be your best friend when you are alone.

"

Everyday I sing off key

But in tune with who I am,

Not always in perfect rhythm

Though almost always in harmony.

Always trying to sing to the light

That a new day is upon me

And I am still alive and kicking

To praise the sun in all its glory.

I enjoy singing the words of amore,

Though it seems to be a solo

This stage within my heart

Is built sturdy enough for a duet.

Occasionally I get lost singing

My very own requiem

Though I am not dead yet

Cause I already feel buried.

When I am not of this earth

You can bet I will be singing with soul

So loved ones always know I care

And that I am still here.

As your poem so aptly describes, music touches us on so many different levels it is what they say we can instantly retrieve lyrics and melody to a song we haven't heard in a long time.

And what a beautiful thought to be able to wake each morning with a song on our lips. You've captured something really special here. It reminds me of the words to a special song of mine

"singin' from my soul / everything I am / everything I know "

Well done again encore encore encore

March to the beat of your own drummer. I know I certainly do. Music is the langage with no words that touches all of us in some way. From the heavy metal that reaches the angst of a teen, to the meloncoly notes of an opera aria that speaks to those who have lost love, and everyone in between. We all need the music, some of us just don't know it yet. As they say music sooths the savage beast. They couldn't be more right. Music sooths us in our worst moments.

So true. To hear an old song on the radio will invoke so many memories of all degrees. Your first 4 lines say it all;
Everyday I sing off key

But in tune with who I am,

Not always in perfect rhythm

Though almost always in harmony

That's all the harmony you need is to please yourself. Bravo Dale.

Singing/music has a way of altering a persons mood. It is a God given truth. He put a song in everyones heart. That is why you don't have to teach a baby to move to the beat, it is an automatic groove. They be dancing. Fire up the music and that little one will bust a move, can't walk, but they dance. Strange! Thank you God for the song. It is truely a gift.

Music can be your best friend, I totally agree. Isn't it funny how hearing a certain song, triggers a memory in the brain, long forgotten, but then it's drawn out and it just makes ya feel so nostalgic!!!!

One that gets me every time...."summer breeze....makes me feel fine" :)

I love this poem. It embodies everything it is to be alive and I know I'm a sucker for music. I live and breath it everyday even though I can't make or sing a single tune. This piece is a good example how music can move all of us.
When I am not of this earth

You can bet I will be singing with soul

So loved ones always know I care

And that I am still here.

This is my favorite part of the whole poem. Wonderful work and great job appealing to us music lovers

i know exactly where you are coming from with this one, my dear Dale....music has always been a part of my life, both in the listening and playing aspect. it can wrap you in it's arms when your down, comfort you when you feel like you have no one. it can inspire things that you would not entertain normally and soothe the heart.
you are so right with this one :)
