When My Earth Reflects My Time

When My Earth Reflects My Time

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Gazing upon reflections

Through atmosphere eyes

I see that my life

Maybe just a speck

Yet it is no greater or no less

Then any other living soul.

My failures

Hidden accomplishments,

My victories

Priceless treasures.

Clearly I see the roads

I traveled were never straight

Yet very necessary,

For every paved mile

Cemented my character.

My mistakes

Greater strength,

My good deeds

The real me.

I now know through faith’s eyes

Revealed to me through

My hearts content

That when I am one again

With the planet

And my earth reflects my time

My soul will take its place

Behind the pearly gates,

But my spirit will still grow

From the seeds of my heart

I planted in those I love.

From the moment this is read it is obvious that it is inspired. Stunning work Dale, you are so proficient at putting your heart 'out there' You have a small problem at the beginning of your last stanza;

I now know through faith's eyes
Revealed to me through
My hearts content

This is fragmented and needs revising. Take a closer look at it Dale and you will see what I mean, maybe the second 'through' could be changed to 'by' Up to you my friend :~)

How very beautiful Dale! It is by the trials in our life that we are able to grow and rise above that which weighs us down........and that you realize that you are but one, and no less than anyone else, that you have learned life, and someday behind the Pearly Gates, those who are left behind will still be fed by the good that you have done.....the love that you have given!!
I really love this one!
Bless you with love,
Sheila

Beautiful poem Dale. It just shows your depth, introspection, and character. which is full of light. I could relate with you on this, I have felt this way many times, and my life is similar to what you wrote here. the best part is the ending:

My soul will take its place

Behind the pearly gates,

But my spirit will still grow

From the seeds of my heart

I planted in those I love.

beautiful! i can tell you probably sat down just for a moment and wrote this, it flowing from your soul.
