The Golden Pond

The Golden Pond

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

When feelings are no longer sacred

And blue falls from the sky

To cover my canvas skin

I seek out the color

That can turn my life

Into a twisted tail

Dreams are made of,

That’s why I swim to the center

Of the golden pond.

But the further I dive in

The more euphoria’s illusion

Become my absolute master

Until I dry off to find

The water has filled my lungs.

So my search to find

The river of serenity grows

Cause the truth be known

From every dip I take in that pond

I lose a little more of myself.

Will there ever come a day when I will understand poetry? I am not sure about this, but I know it sounds good....lol Sounds like you taking the plung again and it bit you. But the good news is you didn't give up, you jumped right back in. Just toughening the skin up.
Keep up the good work and I will keep reading until I do understand poems better.

Oh wow I so loved this piece a very telling piece. Oh don't we love euphoria we love to dive in head first but then we somehow always come back to our senses and here we are left with saying wow what was I thinking. Great piece.

Dear friend I'm afraid I didn't really understand this poem, or at least I don't think I did BUT, it feels sad to me, so maybe I did get it?? It may just be my mood, who knows?? The search for serenity seems a long one these days, but we do not give up hope to find it, do we? (That little train may be a bit rusty but it still runs)...

I understand wanting to stay in the world of the sublime. It beats the real world, for sure.
