Get Your Tongue Out Of My Mouth, I'm Trying To Kiss You Goodbye

Get Your Tongue Out Of My Mouth, I'm Trying To Kiss You Goodbye

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

I want to thank my dear friend Sandy Beaches for the title and challenge

"

Well of course I packed my suitcase,

Did you think I’d leave without some clothes?

I told you bout this a while ago…

I guess you were

Too wrapped up in your self again to pay attention.

Why I couldn’t leave without a few things

And I know you were too busy with Jim Beam.

I can’t see what the big deal is…

It’s not like you will even notice,

Half the time I am a ghost around here

While you’re living just to party.

I’ve told you where I am staying…

Even wrote it down, you probably threw it out

Like you do my feelings when we talk.

I guess one kiss before I leave wouldn’t hurt…

Damn girl get your tongue out of my mouth,

I’m kissing you goodbye not taking you to bed.

Once again you’re not listening…

And you wonder why I’m leaving.

Wooooooo!
Liked this Big C!!!
I could smell the sourness of her breath... and feel the staleness of the air.
This was almost cinematic/4D if you will.
A different voice for you, and done well.
Kudos!

Very entertaining! I love the change of style that you're giving, but maybe I'm not as familiar with all your works as some, but this was very fun, very visual and an underlined message of paying attention. I've been in the situation, and I get it completely. You've written it with flair and a humor that kept me until the end....

Great write

This was great. I loved the determination, the matter-of-factness.
My fav lines:
"I told you bout this a while ago
I guess you were
Too wrapped up in your self again to pay attention."

I can't tell you how many times I've felt THAT way. :)
Glad I came across this for my first read this morning.

This was the perfect poem for an early morning! Expressive and vivid and just plain fun, sailing through the lives of selfish people and lost love...

I just can't imagine any woman ignoring you and not give you any attention when you're such a cutie! :)) Glad it was written for Sandy's challenge. Great poem ... Hugs
