If I Had A Heart

If I Had A Heart

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

If I had a heart

I would be mesmerized

By your thoughts.

If I had a heart

I would be captivated

By your grace.

If I had a heart

I would be in awe

Of your beauty.

If I had a heart

I would be inspired

By your humanity.

If only I had a heart,

But I already gave it to you

 Long time ago.

Wow.. this one is really deep.. can't believe I missed this one!!! The last stanza pulls the whole piece together:

If only I had a heart,
But I already gave it to you
Long time ago.

Really... awe inspiring!!!

trick ending had me fooled, lol. Very interesting. Usually we think of giving our heart away as a positive loving thing, but you express how since you gave it away you couldn't feel anything anymore. I'm guessing this means whoever it was given to ran away with it. got me thinking, well done!

This is wonderfully written. You have expressed such a pure and beautful love.
Just the kind of poem we would all love someone to write for us.

If only I had a heart...I know that feeling.

Wishing to express what it is they make us feel. Wishing to tell them how much we adore them. Hope they realize what we've given them. Hope they realize we have nothing more to give. Hope they cherish the heart they hold in their hands.

You fooled me with this one. Here I thought it was another poem about a player and it turns out he is a sweet guy. Tender one.

How sweet!! You've already taken that big, lovable heart of yours and given it away!! And, the lucky gal is just loving it.........I am certain of that!!.....I like the way you used....thoughts, grace, beauty and humanity
as the focal qualities!
Another nice write!!
Hugs, Sheila
