Yeah Dale............what if?????....oh those dang "what if's"........drive us wild with the possible changes in outcome!
As the comment indictes below. a couple of the words are cut off...I am sure you mean happy, but it is showing hap
and there is another towards the end.....minor adjustments to a nice poem. I see you have entered it in a contest too........good luck my friend!
Hugs, Sheila
wow,,, so touching Dale, you never know what the future could have
been. It just might be the same as you have it right now,
I believe that life has it's course when it comes to death
as painful as it always is, it's the way it was suppose to be
I am sure she is smiling at you, not just today?
but every day of your life!!
Yes, life is certainly full of regrets and often I wonder about the what if's myself but I guess we all do from time-to-time. Especially ones that are more personal and meaningful to us. A very sad, reflective write.
"What if I was there driving that night?
Would your smile still be gracing
This world
Or would we be harmonizing
in heaven?" ~ Only the One in control of our destinies holds the answers.
So heart wrenching Dale since I know exactly what you're talking about and how much it still haunts you.
Would you still be here
So we could share the life
We created in the heat of passion.
This just breaks my heart....the sweet little life....
Either way wouldn't have mattered
If you were still both here.
Amazing this line! If people realized after divorce or a break up this type of thing.....no it wouldn't matter, would it?....as long as they were both still around.
What if I was there driving that night?
Would your smile still be gracing
This world
Or would we be harmonizing
in heaven?
You'll never know......I love the reference to music (smile)...but you can know that they're both really happy!
Wow...how many men have been driven insane by the two little words, "What If...", beating ourselves into a senseless pulp, over an occurance that was probably not within our control in the first place. Sad, very sad...
It's better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool
