What If?

What If?

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

for the What if contest and in memory of someone I lost any years ago.

"

What if I wasn’t so focused

On my music… Instead

Realizing what was more important.

Would you still be here

So we could share the life

We created in the heat of passion.

Is it possible we would have still been happy together

or just sharing memories

And letting each other know we still care.

Either way wouldn’t have mattered

If you were still both here.

What if I was there driving that night?

Would your smile still be gracing

This world…

Or would we be harmonizing

in heaven?

As the comment indictes below. a couple of the words are cut off...I am sure you mean happy, but it is showing hap
and there is another towards the end.....minor adjustments to a nice poem. I see you have entered it in a contest too........good luck my friend!

This is something surprising. . . . Very sorry for your loss
I feel the tears and what if's in this piece. You alway do a colorful view. Shape our mind and make wrap us in wine with your beautiful words.

Much love,
Anna

Dale, this is truly a heartfelt piece. It touches me deeply.
There are so many what ifs in this life. I've often wondered
" What If " we could really change things. Would it be wise,
would it make things better or worse. Just as you said in the
last verse, what if you had been driving, would the world rejoice
in all being alive and well or would they mourn the loss of three
instead of two, You have asked the toughest question in the
world my friend, One that has no answer.

Excellent write. Another for my favs.

I don't know what to say, I'm so sorry.
What if we could turn back time?
What if we had one more chance?
What if we could simply end the pain?
What if...wish there was an answer.

Heartbreaking what ifs. This depicts great love and the pain left. what if we could do it all over, or change just one minute in our past? would things have turned out different? A very emotional and well written piece.
