This is magnificent Dale!I Favorite stanza....
The window to the world
Are the tears in my eyes
Clouding my vision.
To wipe them away
Would be a mistake
For they make the colors
Of the human race
Look like a kaleidoscope of love
In childhood rhymes.
I absolutely love that stanza...A great piece of writing!!!!

How beautiful this is Dale, a myriad of flowing prose that hits the right spot. It is so true, I wish that everyone could see what you see through tears of hope for a better future. We do all grow from the sane...er...same vine!! There is too much getting and not enough giving. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Cheers,
Helen :-)
"The only colors I ever see
Through a clean dry pane
Are flashing reds and blues
Following crimson concrete
From races always colliding
To run one another over.
These sidewalks were once
A path to heaven's gate
Have become graffiti time
For the devil's artwork."
for me this summed up life really well. loved the poem, the flow, and the content and the way it was structured.
There are plenty of great poets on this site, but you are one of the greatest!

This is my favorite stanza because of the imagery. A kaleidoscope is always so interesting to look through, and I can see your point. You make it clear how the world is comprised of so many people, which is also shown in the end that we all come from the same place. (Or at least that's how I see it...haha)
Unlike your other readers, I like your opening stanza. It rivals me to see the world as it twirls around me. Although all the same, they can't seem to notice for their attention to detail is lost in the avenue of who is in control. The shock and awe of the images and colors are mangled into pride instead of compassionnice write Dale

Wow, this is a great piece....such emotion and so deep. I really like the idea of the kaleidoscope....your tears blurring you from seeing the harsh, hateful truth of the world. I especially love the last stanza...its so beautiful and yet so sorrowful at the same time...Amazing write!
It's better to be dead and cool than alive and uncool
