Between Heaven and Hell

Between Heaven and Hell

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Innocent red flows like wine

Being savored by silver tongue angels

Summoning the twilight of the Gods

That brings no amazing grace.

Bitter cold winds from the north

Bare false witness to a ring of fire

Keep your brimstone faith warm

To those finding comfort down south.

The walls of Jericho provide isolation

To the shadow of death in turmoil

Over eternal rights of victims denied

Fearing he will reap what he sows.

Now comes the time for sacrificial rites

As the temptation becomes the master key

To bringing salvation to the offspring

You used to give the devil his due.

Dark indeed, but when realization of the power of the evil within the darkness, it is when we want to flee from it and seek the light of good, and the love of God!
I am glad that I had not read this one until now.........I had it in my menu to read...and now that I am posting my testimony, it means even more to me!
It is a constant battle between good and evil, and good will always be victorious if we will seek it out!
Amazing account!

I love this piece. Very dark and grim. I can hear a deep voiced individual reciting this at the beginning of a spiritually driven horror movie!

"The walls of Jericho provide isolation
To the shadow of death in turmoil
Over eternal rights of victims denied
Fearing that he'll reap what he sows."

That's dope! That's early Nirvana lyrics dope! Keep it up, you know you're classic and I'm snapping my fingers with applause!!

And this had such a greek/biblical ring to it...I love it!! Totally going in my library!!

And the mention of the gods just makes it an epic!

i really like the second stanza it really jells the title so well to the content when you bring the reader into the middle and show what is all around in the use of the directions North and South. The ending brings a more deep darkness to the feel of the write...

well written as usual
