Life's Journey Is More Than Meets The Eye

Life's Journey Is More Than Meets The Eye

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

In this wondrous journey of life

It is better to walk a dirt road...

For those that glide down paved streets

Never truly understand the meaning of home.

Often we walk a path with blinders

Ignoring the river we walk beside

If we just take the time to skip a stone across

we could appreciate the miracle of the ripples.

When the sky crashes down on you

Stop seeing it as a dream being crushed.

Rather, the soul-searching revelation

As the impossible is never out of reach.

That giant hole in the middle of the road

Isn’t as dark and empty deep as it seems.

In reality it’s a reason to leap.

So for a moment you can experience flying.

When you hit a dead end

Don’t ever think of it as over.

Look upon it as just another adventure

Off the beaten path...

              Into neverland.

This is a little more then you would at first think it is..I loved the ending, I've been to nowhere but i've never been to never land.. thank you, the journey begins with one footsteps and ends with one footstep, its where those footsteps take us that are important, thank you to for reminding in the frustation of sliding down a hill that the impossible is never out of reach.. good words, i'm glad i've read them.

God, I don't think you could never know how much this touch my gray soul!! If I could cry happy tears, It would be for you writing this.. I think I stepped upon a dark whole but as you said. It isn't as dark and empty as it may seem. I'm beginning to fall backwards. I've been thinking about my dad and how much I miss just the sound of his voice. You really surprise me on how touching your writings are..So breath taking my friend. Thank you for your light through my dark alley!

Much love n respect,
Anna

nicely done, Dale...and so very true.

Don't ever think of it as over.

Into neverland.

life is truly a journey to be experienced; it isn't just the destination...what would be the fun in that?

This is a wonderful poem and so inspirational. In the beginning of the poem when
you say: It is better to walk a dirt road

For those that glide down paved streets

Never truly understand the meaning of home.

To me that statement is saying that people shouldn't think they
are any better than the rest of us, with their fake lives and illusions,
and they don't appreciate the simple things in life that can't be bought.

There is hope and faith here to never give up, that there are
reasons sometimes we are lead in another direction.

Great work Dale!

... me likey :)

optimistic and wise. A smooth path can leave someone sleep walking. We need the obsticles to appreciate the absence of them. I leave your words but your words never leave me.

I really liked this one, just when you think your life is over it isn't.
Just find another road to take. Enjoyed the message in this write sweety.

Preach it, Cowboy! So true, so true.

This reminds me of "The Road Not Taken", by Robert Frost.

A poem so true with an optimistic message. It is true that people live on the fast lane and miss out what is really there. And its looking at the glass half full kind of deal! Or half empty? Half empty just means you have more possibilities so I still dont understand the pestimistic side of that glass thing XD excellently penned, going in my faves! Kudos Buddy!
