When The Weeping Willow Cries

When The Weeping Willow Cries

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

When that weeping willow cries

It feeling the pain of neglect

Mother nature feels.

When the weeping willow cries

It sees how hard everyday life is

On mother earth

When the weeping willow cries

It can’t believe how lonely

The children of the night are.

So when you see the weeping willow cry

Don’t ask her why, ask humanity.

Nice Dale, this was simply alot better then the one I wrote in less then 5 minutes, haha. I should probably go back and re-construct it, but oh well. I think you should deserve to win, and add another award to the ones I already gave you! Ha!

"So when you see the weeping willow cry
Don't ask her why, ask humanity."

-- I couldn't agree any more with you!!!

I was drawn in by the title. My craft name is Willow, so given because the willow tree is an avatar for the emotional side of me.

I love this poem because you address the pain the earth feels and you remind humanity that we are responsible for her pain.

Succinct and timeless. Nice job. I, too, have written about the weeping willow crying which really drew me to this work, although I can not now remember which poem it was - lol - I have too many. I remember writing 'weep the tears of the weeping willow' and that is about it. I can really relate to what you have expressed here. Thank you for sharing your work. Lovely.

It's beautiful! The innocence of the weeping willow meets the brutality of mankind. It's a topical poem about one of the gravest mistakes our generation is inflicting on the world. We need art with a conscience to keep this issue at the forefront of peoples minds. Great write!

How true! we are here to be the protectors of nature yet we are the ones bringing Mother nature to her knees, i don't see the deer polluting our water, or the lion desecrating our land. it is us, the protectors of the world or rather the destroyers of our Mother nature!!

Blessed be

As always-nicely done.

When the weeping willow cries
It can't believe how lonely
The children of the night are.

this is quite true, Dale...and it seems the human race still doesn't see what damage it is doing to mother earth. we have only one true home, so why continue hurting her i ask?

nicely done and good luck with the contest :)

So when you see the weeping willow cry

And the price we pay, and that of our children's children is yet to be seen. Well written.
