Fantasy Tree

Fantasy Tree

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

for Seriana's contest "Story Time

"

When life’s gravitational

pull is astronomical

that the solid ground

which my life is built

feels like quicksand

causing inspiration,

the root of my happiness

to DWINDLE like

dust in the wind

I reach… till

my faith takes

Peter Pan’s hand

as I ESCAPE

to that place

that’s planted

In imagination…

My fantasy tree.

It’s roots wrapped

around my mind

climbing a spiral

through cloud nine

where my eyes

can see farther then

the moon can reach.

Every branch sprouts

out the things

only my soul believes.

I can hang with

the mighty dragon

who with one

TELEPATHIC breath

sets my determination a blaze.

Climbing higher lets me…

Feel the breeze

from the Eagle's wings

allowing the freedom

to be me

soar into infinity.

At last I reach

what I believe heaven to be

where a single TOUCH

of my guardian angel

reminds me that

faith in myself

is only a heartbeat away.

Here in my fantasy tree

I rest in euphoric bliss

as the writer in me

rides the LIGHTENING

amongst the clouds.

The tree....it is very Peter Pan...very Lost Boys....and I think, that when we grow up, and mature, and get into the doldrums of being an adult, we lose sight of our tree, of our "Hook" and the whimsy that goes along with it. You've captured it well here.

The picture is awesome just as is the poem that went along with it. This was absolutely fantastic. You took a bunch of fairytale stories and ideas and made them your own. The imagery was perfect and I loved the way the stanzas were set up. Great poem I really enjoyed reading it!

You did a great job with creating a surreal poem that matches perfectly with the picture. The imagination is a powerful gift which can take you to places the tangible world cannot. You are the master of your own universe inside your mind. This write is full of amazing imagery and celestial elements. Good luck in the contest. This should at least place if not win.

You start with a mesmerising picture and, then, then, then use words to embellish, highlight and frame it.

Incredible poem with power yet gentleness, a melding of thoughts which really reached me.

' Feel the breeze / from the Eagle's wings / allowing the freedom / to be me / soar into infinity.' That is incredibly moving and that's not meant to be a pun on the word 'soar'.

Thank you for sharing, Dale

You have indeed transformed the image into a masterpiece of imaginary flight, and a soul quest to find that which is in the roots and branches of your fantasy tree! I absolutely enjoyed it all......but particularly the lines ....the writer in me rides the lightning amongst the clouds.........you've got those clouds charged with electricity that illuminates a dark sky with genius!
I hope you have won, or will win the challenge with this write!!
Getting charged up with this epic journey!

Love this! It's so damn magical, mystical. Like a adventure in a fairytale, yet the poem I
feel has a deeper meaning for you. It has a spiritual feel, like a chant to grant you good
luck as a person, a writer. Great job!

The picture makes me want to flow right through it:).

Sometimes it's crazy, this picture I bet spoke for itself. It's true, pictures do have a thousand words.
