You Better BelieveA Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Just some lyrics I wrote
It was a simple run to the quick stop For some cigarettes and beer When a man appeared from out of the dark Looking like he needed handout. I tried to pretend I didn’t see him Cause my mood was in a hard place And somehow he must have seen Inside my soul when he said. You better believe No one can do it for you You better believe So fate will never kill you You better believe Or no one will ever know you You better believe Then faith will never fail you Kneeling before the woman I love With a ring and nervous hand Asking her to be my beautiful bride As a tear ran down her face. She looked me in the eye with pain And said, “I don’t think I’d be a good wife.” Not knowing what to do all I could say Were the words that saved me. You better believe No one can do it for you You better believe So fate will never kill you You better believe Or no one will ever know you You better believe Then faith will never fail you A few years later on the street She was looking so happy baby in hand Greeting me with a warm smile Telling me I saved her life. As I walked away I gave thanks To that angel with a dirty face For the two lives he graced With those lines I’ll always remember You better believe No one can do it for you You better believe So fate will never kill you You better believe Or no one will ever know you You better believe Then faith will never fail you © 2008 The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Featured Review
