Cheers My DearA Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)I took the challenge of my friend Kim(Kit Kat) to compare alcohol to love.
I raise my glass to you As I stare into your eyes Realizing they are more Crystal clear than my glass. Now I see that my feelings for you Are far more important Then what’s in this glass. Suddenly this hundred proof Has zero appeal when compared To this woman in my life. For when I get high on you My nights are spent in heaven Instead of an intoxicating hell. So bottoms up as I Pour it down the drain For now I can’t face my fears Standing next to you Instead of lying in the gutter With the sewage I was becoming. So cheers my dear For your love has put the bottle Of whiskey on the shelf To collect dust Like all the bad memories Of my past. © 2008 The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Reviews
