Sword And Stone

Sword And Stone

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

dedicated to a friend killed last weekend by the bullet of a coward

"

WAR CRIES…

Bring about

EVIL… from the darkness!!

Much to late

To catch a glimpse

Of the sword… swinging down!!

NOW…

Sudden release

Spiritual surrender… up lifted!!

Heaven’s acceptance

Begin a new journey

Protecting forever… in loved ones hearts!!

SUDDENLY…

I am the stone

Solid and strong… my faith lives on!!

I lost a friend to the bullet of a coward once many years ago. She saved someone else's life in the process. It's strange--the seeming randomness of the process. Why she was taken and I was left to live on. . . she had just as much to give as I do.

I raise my glass to your friend. He's going Home. No more doubt or fear or pain--there. Cheers, Dale.

Loved this! The sword in the stone...a fantastic story of hope in the sight of upheaval and unfairness. Great flow, wonderful message! 100 peaches!

"Heaven's acceptance

Begin a new journey

Protecting forever in loved ones hearts!!

SUDDENLY

I am the stone

Solid and strong my faith lives on!!"

The acceptance of passage and transformation in those words is heartfelt.
A nice write. Sorry for your loss.

I am sorry for your loss.
Loosing someone you love is unbearably hard.
I am sure your friend has found relief, wherever she now is.

A great little poem.
I especially liked these lines

Much to late
To catch a glimpse
Of the sword swinging down!!

It reminds us how quickly Death can come

This was a great testament to the pain, saddness, and anger that one feels when something this tragic occurs...but the thing that I like most about this piece is the ending, which gives a hopeful tone to your feelings. The fact that you can live on means that this friend will live on...because the best way to be immortal is by living in the minds of those who love us. Nicely written!
