Revelations/Acceptance

Revelations/Acceptance

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Soul searching…

Realization…

Strikes like a snake bite

Then calms like a gentle stream.

For the things

I recently learned

I have come to terms

And made my peace.

Though time may

Not be on my side

I still consider it

A friend.

Though some bridges

May be burned

There is still a rope

To attempt to return

If I’m not afraid to die…

Which I’m not.

And though I may

Never be loved again

My heart will never be lonely

Knowing it once was.

Dale, your words brought to mind other words from long ago. . . a story where a man is dying from snake bite, the story was called 'a la deriva'. Stream of consciousness technique takes us on a journey as he travels back to where he belongs. Until at the very end, we find he is injured beyond help.

But, you, you've learned lessons. You have roads left to walk. You have every hope ahead of you.

Dale, you WILL be loved again. Sorry...I didn't mean to imply that I KNOW the character of this piece. The piece is fabulous in taking the reader on a ride that begins with insecurity or un-suredness and brings me to a place that I know is solid and safe. There is a symbiotic relationship here between the writer and the reader and what happens to the writer or character of this write also happens to the reader. The emotional strain and feeling of not knowing where this will take us (the reader and the writer) ends abruptly at the end in a zone of safety and solid ground "My heart will never be lonely Knowing it once was."

Well done my friend!

Your talent is supreme. This is a well written poem exressing the feelings of accepting life on life's term. It's a eye opening feeling wouldn't you say?

This is both poignant and to the point. Your message is definately a positive one of acceptance and I am a big believer in accepting what you can't change. Dale...it s the only way to move on, and I feel sure you will be loved again! There will be many more bridges for you...

This is a great metaphor for life in general...all of the "bad things" should be be regretted, because in the end, they are what shape us in to the people we are today; we are ever changing, ever evolving beings. Nicely written...

Your words are beautiful. I love the piece and I do believe one should consider time as a friend, even when it is irrelevant. ;) You will be loved again. You always are. ^^

Thank you for asking me to read this one....your words so vividly portrayed a man trying to return by rope to the other side where the burnt bridge once stood stong....love the metaphor! One thing I caught:

Strikes like a snake bit
BITE

Cheers to you my friend,
laura

A sad but beautifully written poem. Love will find it's way to your heart again, my friend.
Do not give up on yourself and lose faith. You're a wonderful person Dale and there are many girls who
would give anything to be loved by you. Just be patient my friend and love will find a way.
