A Peace Of Light

A Peace Of Light

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

A lesson I have learned

"

Starlight glances

Cast a tender gaze

On a path paved with crystals.

Each on reflecting images

Long forgotten

Yet needed like rain.

Walk it with care

Taking in every past emotion

Guiding through lost hope.

Twisted dream of who you are

Shatter the mirror

Of who you want to be.

Though the path is dimly lit

The journey in a necessity

For the soul to survive.

In the end if you want

To find peace in the heart

Courage must light the way.

Sometimes courage is the hardest thing to find to light the way. I love the message here, a great thought provoking write! So glad you re-featured it otherwise i might never have read it!! I also utimately identify with
'Twisted dream of who you are
Shatter the mirror
Of who you want to be.'

feels like an emotion I've dealt with much in the past!

I do not know what to add that my fellow reviewers have already said..

Personally, I love this piece as I think courage is very underated, yet one of the hardest emotions to have. Well done here..

'The journey is a necessity for the soul to survive'
Those are very interesting and prevalent words Dale if you are going to live your life knowing that it is a journey of companions...by that I mean that we are all on the same journey of discovery, the end of which is, at times of turmoil, in full view. We all need to live in the moment, dwelling on past events of trauma only serves to make us bitter.
This is very well put together, its message clear as crystal...

Fantastic write. And you are so right. We cannot have a future if we live in the past. Sometimes it is extremly hard to get past certain points of our life but we have to find a way, as you said "The journey is a necessity, for the soul to survive" and my favorite part, " To find peace in the heart, Courage must light the way." It does take courage to get past the obstacles, sometimes they can be quite scary and depressing. I really love your poem as it points out that in order to have happiness in our lives we have to let go of the past and move on. No matter how hard that may be.

This is going to my fav's. I love it.

Dale, this is great. Slow, contemplative wisdom in such pure language. This has to be one of my favorites of your works.

Hey Dale, this is deep, I think you touch on those feelings we all wish to live forever, our past, our youth. When everything was light and bright, but when we look at our reflection in the mirror, we see our years moving on and at times we don't wish to see the reality of it all, so we stay in the past, which can be diasterous for some, holding us back from true happiness. Some of us will have a gentle hand to help and guide us through to the light again and we will survive and move on, but some won't.
