The Talk

The Talk

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

a conversation between my heart and mind

"

My heart had a talk

With my wandering mind

Letting it know

You are such a fool.

Letting go of the perfect woman

With thought of things

That didn’t exists

And being to prideful and loud.

My mind replied

I was just thinking

And the heart woefully interrupted

That’s your problem

Always thinking

And now you cost me

The woman who held me

With more beauty and grace

Then I ever thought

And now thanks to you

The one I truly love is gone.

My mind cried out

I know me too.

A poignant piece , when the heart and mind are not in harmony

the heart may feel the pain in the breakup~but it's the mind that will torment you

and send you on the guilt trip~ Great WritE! my friend~Fran

Excellent Cowboy. It is that eternal war. We often over think, because we have gotten burned when we folled just the heart. It is a complex pull. Follow your heart. They all say it. I am a believer in your poem, because even the pain that comes your way, is a heart felt pain. You tried to think it through, be adult, logical, and the pain still got you, so if it's a toss up, screw it, follow your heart. Great write. Rain..

Which do we listen to? The heart or the mind? Both can get us into trouble.
A wonderful first visit with you. I enjoyed my stay and will return.

It's tough when you're arguing with yourself. When the heart and mind are at war -- there can be no winner. But I think what makes this so poignant is that the mind is recognizing its mistake and concedes to the heart in the end.

What a great poem, Sometimes we let the heart rule and sometimes the head, it would be great if they would both agree like your ending, but before it is too late!!

Wonderful as ever

The battle between heart and mind. Everyone of us has experienced this battle at one time or another so this poem is easily related too. Our heart is actually a significant part of our brain. It is tied neurologically to every organ in the body and is known as the motor of the body, because it activates both feeling and movement. That is why if our emotional center is disturbed, we will be upset all over.
When we are experiencing the good emotions such as love, happiness, joy we love the feeling we get from these and are glad we have emotions but when happy moves out and sad moves in we wonder why we even have to have emotions, what good are they to us. But if we indeed did not have emotions , think of alll the beautiful memories, happy times that would be so bland so cold, What a sad world we would indeed have .But I am getting carried away here by my own wandering mind. Sad to say if I ever wrote a book it would probably end up so long no one would dare read it for fear they'd never be able to finish it. lol
I agree with poetuknowit "This is beautiful and heeartbreaking at the same time" and if our hearts or emotions truly governs our brain as the scientists claim, then why does our brain win the battle more often. A true mystery and and one that is very thought provoking.
I love this poem for its beauty in writing and I am so sorry you having to deal with something so heartbreaking. I truly hope everything works out for the better in the end.

Sorry for such a long boring review guess in my case, my mouth rules.

Such intense feelings and thoughts. I don't know if this is true, it could be, but whether or not it is, it's so sad. Yet, in spite of the strong feelings, you've written such a fine poem, made words really shout...

My heart had a talk / /With my wandering mind / Letting it know / You are such a fool.

such sad, sad words

Take care

This is beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time. It is amazing to me....the human emotion. So much to go through and so many battles within. Thank you for sharing.
