Cryptic Message

Cryptic Message

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

A fog covered dream

Of an angel bathing

In brimstone fire.

The charcoal waterfall

Offers no solution.

The devil watches

In wild eyed amazement

While he whispers

In my ear,

“Shhh…Do not tell the wizard

of that you so desire

or your requiem

will be out of tune”

Cryptic is his words

But deep in my soul

I know…

I know therefore I fear!!!

I like your very surprising use of imagenary. At first I get this very angelic, mystifying visualisation full of light ... soon to be juxtaposed by a very black vision. Reading this evokes a sense of duality. The duality of daily life, the duality of black and white, between which we are torn during the whole of our lifespan.
Like you are you writing: you know, therefore you fear...
Life can be frightening at times, that makes it so challenging and adventurous ...
I wish I could tell you to have no fear, because fear often gives you not the best of advice.
Sometimes we have to take risks in order to proceed ...
Please keep us surprising with this kind of mystifying cryptic words!

I love the last line... It has a very mythical feel, which I love. I'm never surprised how good your words are. It made me think of a book I once read, I only wish I could remember the name!

It does seem sometimes that once we speak of something there are others preparing for our doom with it. Wonderfully captured and what a vision you paint with your words!

"The devil is in the details"... and so, he is here.

The plight of man, always torn between what he desires and what God desires for him.

Great read, and thanks for making me think.

OH have no fear. Just ignore the devil's foolish words and keep talking to God, the wizard of all wizards!! And, um, careful what you eat before bed!! ; )
I'm sure Carl Jung would have much more to say about this dream than I....
Interesting write!

for it's succinctness this definitley plants a thought in the pysche. Nicely done. ALmost a 'warning' of a poem.

full of images that leap out at you. Both the light and the dark are represented, which is true for life.
