Wide-Eyed Innocence

Wide-Eyed Innocence

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

Dedicated to my mother (July 20, 1939-May 31, 2006)

"

The evening news couldn’t corrupt her mind

Every evenings wrong doings were still a surprise.

Big cities couldn’t shake her small town outlook

Every one was still a down home neighbor.

Sixty-six years of ups and downs, heartaches and heartbreaks

And still she could see how a six year old sees.

Until the day the angel came to lead her to God’s kingdom

Her Wide-eyed innocence saw the good in all mankind.

Now I wish for just one day that I could see

Through my mother’s eyes.

The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
Just something I need to write at a time when I am missing my mom. One of her greatest traits was how she always saw the good in everything and everyone like a child. I know some think that to be a good thing but I always admired her for it. If I have only half the kind heart she does then I will be doing good.

Your love and admiration for your beloved Mother shines in this most beautiful, heartfelt tribute, Dale ... Only a woman with a beautiful, loving heart could look at life or the world as the way she did and still see the goodness and beauty in everyone. A beautiful testament to the woman that raised such a fine son ... The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree, Dale and you are living proof of that old adage ... Beautifully penned ... hugs

This is a lovely tribute to a wonderful woman. You have shared her with us all, and I know my life is richer for being allowed to know her as you did. Great job!

A beautiful poem that any mother would be bursting with pride about. Also, it seems that you poured yourself into this with all emotion. You might not have actually, but it seemed so heartfelt

What a beautiful, loveing tribute to the one you loved so much. I miss my mom alot too but haven't been able to find the words... you did her real honor here my friend and I do believe you already have more heart than most so she would be very proud of you. I would love to be able to see as she did and find good in everything and everyone, what a huge heart and wonderful woman she must have been. An excellant poem and tirbute for such an amazing woman. Hugs my friend.

Such a beautiful dedication to your mom, who is in some way an inspiration to all of us... Your words bring about the depth of her life and character, and the way life should be viewed in its beauty and simplicity. I miss my mother as well...

oh what a wonderful tribut to her...The love you have for her was in every glyph... between the lines... everywhere... to keep the spirit young... is real artistry... for with experiences we lose our ability to get excited about the world... she was a wonderful person then.. that's why you are talented and creative...

A son is always his mother's son... so don't doubt you have your mother's sweet heart.

What a beautiful poem, sincere and loving, appreciate and, finely expressed.

Tear-jerking too... have to stop typing. Thank you.
