Love can beak your heart

Leave you hollow inside.

I want it.

Love can bring joy and happiness

Making your burdens light.

I don’t want it.

Love will mess with your emotions

And you’ll wish you were dead.

I want it.

Love can inspire you to great things

Giving you the strength to fight.

I don’t want it.

Love embrace me,

Love set me free.

Guess it's the old adage.. 'better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all'

Imagine what it would be like to go through life never loving or being loved.. even memories after things have faded can make you shiver in your shoes.

I understand what you've written, created, so very finely... the poem is very well crafted and maybe, maybe a little bittersweet but, the sweet's the stronger!

Thank you for sharing.

Love bites sometimes ... why is it that we always love the ones who are bad for us and who hurt us instead of the ones who are good for us?

That's what this made me think of anyway. I like it very much and I like the twist to wanting the bad parts of it instead of the good.

So intruiged I was when I read this poem the first time, I knew I had to return back to it again. The irony of the narrative comeing from the poet is honest and yet carries a tinge of humour underneath its metaphor, and it so gives the poem a pleasing body.

Well, this is very intriguing, you want love for the side effects most don't want it. It's an honest perspective though, and I wonder if it's not at least partially true for everyone.
