Matters Of The Heart

Matters Of The Heart

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

When you ask the question

"

Should I stay or should I go?

Seems to be a simple question

Except when it come to

Matters of the heart.

With so many emotions

Flowing in and out

It can be so easy

To get them crossed

Or even lost amongst

Many vein decisions.

Love is much like the heart

Which is why I believe

They are connected.

For on the surface can seem

To function on simple principles

But the complexities are endless.

Both need constant care and work

In order to keep them strong and healthy.

If you neglect them

They can grow weak and soon flat line

And when abused over and over

A reason to continue

Ends up in the emergency room.

So when it comes to the matters of the heart

In the ways of love

And you ask yourself

Should I stay or should I go

Then ask yourself another question,

Are the 911’s of the relationship

Merely occasional palpitations

Or constant heart attacks?

You speak the truth here... Love is probably the biggest mystery of the human condition...if one could create a cure for "lovesickness", I believe it would be more valuable than a cure for cancer! LOL I like what you had to say here, the flow of the piece was nice, subtle. There were a few little spelling and grammer mistakes, but other than that, it was very nice.

So much truth in it.
It is a question we've all asked.

Thanks for sharing.

Oh wow Dale, what a brilliantly thought provoking piece with such a refreshing look at love. You just know how to tickle the minds of those whom really get into what you have just displayed right here.

Beautiful my friend, really insightful

Good one! ........I actually laughed at the last question.....it's witty, makes u think and since it's an unusual question I had to laugh...it takes u off the situation by analysing it differently with this question! hehe...clever!

I have to dial 112

I love this part. I even tried playing with it a little. You know how I like to play with pauses. It is a difficult question to answer some days.

Well, very interesting take on love. I like how you took emotions and compared it blood flow with love as the heart. Love pumping emotions through out, criss crossing each other so that most of the time we are confused and can not follow the line. I think one should take time to think through whether to end a relationship. It usually is something that can not be undone.

The flow wasn't as great as some of your other pieces, it felt jagged, but given the subject, it probably suits the piece just fine.

Thanks for the invite.

Awe the question of questions. We struggle to understand our place in the universe and in which we fit. Finding ourselves very often in a place we never thought we would. Whether it is with a person or a job, or even the place in which we live. We seek enlightenment in the journey of life and find the answer we search for already exist inside of us. Sorry took me a while to get to this I could not get on the site all weekend. But truly is a a gem to find there awaiting me.

Great Job!!!!!!!
