Echoes

Echoes

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Echoes of your lying words

Still beat on my eardrums

Withering away the seems

Till I fall deaf to love’s call.

Echoes of the roaring pain

Vibrate off the walls of my heart

Causing cracks along the chambers

Detaching my veins from the living.

Echoes of my future crumbling

Traps my feelings in darkness

With no real hope of escape

Taking my last breath of hope.

Echoes of faith descend from the clouds

Upon the sunrays of a new day

Standing before me is an angel

That makes heaven not so far away.

She’s the prayer I didn’t ask for

She’s the miracle I longed for

She’s the complete opposite of you

She’s the wings wrapped around my heart

She’ everything I could have asked for

And so much more.

She’s my echo of true love rising above every mountain.

hehe, you know? I was married for five years which doesn't seem like a long time, but... Every girl I dated for two years was just like my ex wife. Whether she looked like her or acted like her, there were always similarities...

Enough about me... lol Your poem doesn't really rhyme, but it reads like it does which takes talent to pull off. You probably didn't realize you were doing it, as we seldom do, but the talent demands to have a voice one way or another. Terrific job on this piece and it is an enjoyable read (:

This is strong imagery...and when I mean strong, I mean both "well done" and "powerful". All of the words like "vibrate", "roaring", "crumbling", etc., give the reader a sharp sense of exactly what your intent with this piece was. A pleasure to read!

Oh Dale, you have an amazing ability, my friend. I loved this piece as it conveys so much hope after such despair. I love the depth of feeling in this piece. You have flawlessly captured the realm of how deeply anguish and joy can penetrate our souls. It did bring tears to my eyes and touched me greatly. This one is going in my favorites, cowboy!!!
An exquisite piece of writing!!

Echoes of a lost love ... tend to go on for a considerable time.
This beautiful poem is the witness of your heartfelt and honest love.
But in the end, did your love deserve you?
No this lady did not and you know it!
Right now, love is hurting you, but remember deep down inside it is meant to be honest and soothing!
A most wonderful account of what we call an 'eternal theme', you have made it into a poem to be kept for eternity!

Dale this actually brought tears to my eyes. First for the pain and sadness, then for your happiness and joy.
You did what every writer dreams of being able to do, you made the reader feel what you were feeling , what you were experiencing. This is what poetry is all about. We reach deep into our souls and bare our most innermost selves to the reader.
You have done that beautifully my friend.
A very warm, heartfelt poem.
I loved it.

Thank you for sharing.
