Next Prey-er

Next Prey-er

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Time to worship again

Lead your flock to the depths of hell.

Here on your scared ground

Lying eyes and snakeskin bites

Are parts of the everyday service.

High upon your altar

Looking down on your flock

Each one suffering the consequences

From worshiping your

Cruel temptress preechings.

Using sex as false salvation

And deceit as Hail Marys

Then corroding their spirits

In your fountain of debauchery

Disguised as pure holy water.

So lead them deep into temptation

And deliver them straight to hell

While you worship in the name

Of your beast of burden

That you make others pay for.

So sacrifice the virgins

And those not so innocent

But with God as my witness

I will not become your next

PREY-ER!!

Wow this is very good I really like this alot you were really stright down to the point and you made in justifyed, You wrote this so farely and true that people suffer from so manything that some times we dont know what to do...God is suposed to be our healer and our father to bring us salvation and peace. We are not suposed to have to take the devils hand that places bad thing on us as we try to live a stong life...We are tested that yet I know through god but he him said we shall not suffer but yet we do..We suffer from to many things proverty emotional pain phycial ,mental and through the illness that the devil places apon us all...right here is what got me
So lead them deep into temptation

And deliver them straight to hell

While you worship in the name

Of your beast of burden

That you make others pay for.

So sacrifice the virgins

And those not so innocent

But with God as my witness

Another piece that allows the reader to make their own interpertation, even how it applies to their own faith.

As for me, my immediate thoughts went to the tele-evangelists, the modern day tent revival preachers, who offered up salvation with the passing of the hat.
Check the spelling in this phrase:

From worshiping your
Cruel temptress preechings (preachings ?)

I love the play on words in the title as well.
Kudos and thanks for the invite.

Very interesting. I did have to read it through twice to get the full impact, but I am rather beyond exhausted today. I did enjoy it, it was well written and to the point.
Thank you for sharing.
best,

Yikes, I'm scared! Nicely written Dale. This is probably one of your stronger pieces. I loved the temptation/religious theme you used. It's really a very strong, symbolic way to get your point across. Nice job!

This came through with alot of angst. But it was kinda funny with the play on words.
The visions presented I can see in certain religious groups, both in the past and now.
I think this piece caries a message the people might want to wake up and start working with God on their own.

Great Write

Wonderfully creative piece, as always Dale. I love the parallels you bring out in this piece.
"Very straight to the heart" in the different aspects you've addressed here. brilliant.

That's just what the preachers seem to do. People get so caught up and believe, because they are lost in confusion. religion is the biggest con game know to man. People don't have that love their brother attituded, it great for Sunday morning but not for Friday night, bar fights, knifing and shootings.

Great insight and excellent writing.

Very...VERY clever, I feel like I've just been to church! People actually do treat others this way, there's a bit of venom in this Dale and I like it. Aside from the strong message of destructive love/hate, I want to talk about the structure and grammar of this...it is superb!! I can't fault it and I do look for this in people's work because constructive criticism and feedback is what this site should be about. Your use of language is excellent and I found your parallels between church and relationships awesome to say the least. Your title was well-thought-out and catching to the eye...way to go!! You give your reader the ride of their life here and it's kudos from me...
