Next Prey-er

Next Prey-er

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Time to worship again

Lead your flock to the depths of hell.

Here on your scared ground

Lying eyes and snakeskin bites

Are parts of the everyday service.

High upon your altar

Looking down on your flock

Each one suffering the consequences

From worshiping your

Cruel temptress preechings.

Using sex as false salvation

And deceit as Hail Marys

Then corroding their spirits

In your fountain of debauchery

Disguised as pure holy water.

So lead them deep into temptation

And deliver them straight to hell

While you worship in the name

Of your beast of burden

That you make others pay for.

So sacrifice the virgins

And those not so innocent

But with God as my witness

I will not become your next

PREY-ER!!

You did a great job bringing this poem to a close and giving the voice of poem strength. Cherrie

This reminds me of the tiny little chapel on my block when I lived
in Florida. They used rattlesnakes in their services and one evening
someone got snake bit. I've always thought that trying to test God
was a good way to appease the Devil, himself. I believed that the
snake bite was testament to that. No more rattlesnakes in that chapel.
Silly people! Sorry if I offend anyone; just saying.

Very intense, brings to mind those 'Preachers' using people for their own ends, with no desire what so every to really save any souls.

This is a poem that mixes religion and faith.. it is a good mix?
God is real and holly.. with no contradictions..of any kind.
The evil comes in such a places where the prayers are like rivers. for he knows the bible too..
So..I say.. God is good... and we all are his baby's the ones who choose
where Hell could be.. and Heaven begins his path that leads us to Eternal Salvation...
Blessings my child.. how are you today?

Wow.. this was very good .. very full of dark emotions .. an ironic and colloquial idiom shifting the word prey-er (preyer..one who preys upon) with implications of using the religious word prayer throughout the writing..

A prey-er feeding upon prayers and those whom pray.. this is very up to date and true to the times.. both in non-religious groups as well as publicly seen.. a false advocate of religion.. they may believe in something.. but the greed is possibly overtaking any base beliefs.. very fierce flow and this could have a double meaning .. It can mean one turning their backs on religion itself (the female being a twisted dark angel) or a stand against becoming a victim and being preyed upon.. very much a metaphor of high ranks.. even our highest ranking priests and ministers are even surely God's children and our preaching advocates.. but at base human.. we are supposed to worship above.. not people are we really sooo shocked when even a priest becomes human..don't know if this was directed towards the church.. a priest or nun but.. great work here!!!

Reading this poem, i reminder of the recent sex scandals, which have rocked various Christian churches in Canada. Sadly, for these young children, they never had your knowledge, to defend themselves with. Thank you, for reminding us, of the predators, whom cloak themselves in the lamb's clothes.

Well, I'm taking this as referring to all the damage that's done in the name (only) of religion, Christian or otherwise. The hypocites, the power hungry, the well-intentioned but the ignorant, and the just out and out liars using religion to take advantage of people and have done massive damage in doing so. I'm getting, "think for yourself and don't just blindly follow" from this. I'd like to add that it's not a good idea to just jump on the bandwagon condemning a particular faith without gathering all the facts either... not saying you are, "just saying" is all. It is a very powerful write, no doubt.

very contreversial, don't know what to make of it,
religion, and our faith or lack of faith, is one thing that gets to me,
though I can see the anger, and rage, great write. ----mishel
