The DAG chapter 29A Chapter by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)Danny was surprised when he saw Hawks and Willows pull up to the scene. He couldn’t help but wonder why. Then he was surprised that he was surprised. Hawks was still out for his innocent blood like a vampire. “Danny, Danny, Danny.” Hawks was watching him from the front seat while Willows drove. “It seems that people keep dying around you.” It starting to seem more than coincidental.” “I didn’t do anything.” Danny pleaded. “You know, You should have that printed on a t-shirt and wear it wherever you go.” Hawks grinned and then faced forward “That would keep you from telling us every time we see you around a dead body.” d “Is that really necessary?” Willows chimed in. “ Hey, I’m just trying to give him some helpful tips.” Hawks looked back at Danny. “ Speaking of which, Maybe you should be calling your lawyer. Again.” “Am I under arrest?” Danny asked in a mocking tone. “What do you mean? Danny was starting to sound desperate. “We were run off of the road.” “So you say,” Hawks replied. “Did you get a good look at the truck?” Danny hung his head. “No.” Although he had seen the truck he didn’t want to say anything until he talked to his dad. Although he needed to be sure of what he saw he still needed to proceed with caution with what was going on. He couldn’t believe his father would do this, even though he did have an attitude towards Debbie before her death, and now he has been acting odd since her death. A knot the size of a baseball developed in Danny’s gut. Of course not.” hawks didn’t even try to conceal his sarcasm. They drove in silence until they pulled into Derrick’s driveway. Willows kept the engine running while Danny got out. He hustled unto the house until he heard a whistle. He instinctively turned around. “Danny. “ Hawks shouted. “Don’t you go running around with any more corpses.” He grinned and rolled up the window. As they drove away Danny noticed his father’s truck in the driveway. He couldn’t believe he didn’t see it when he got out of the car. After staring at it for a moment he opened the door and walked into the house. There were no lights on high sent chills up his spine. © 2024 The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE) |
