Life Goes On

Life Goes On

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Smile through the dreams you made

and laugh in the face of pain

as you show misery a good time.

Allow the rains of liberty to help

the negativity to roll of your back

and soak into the ground where it belongs,

where the sun don’t shine… to be walked upon.

Let the rays of sunlight project

the magic of your true essence

and flourish amongst  the living

as the zombies of the world

befriend the shadows of hate.

For the world keep turning

dark or light…

hot or cold…

rich or poor,

With or without you life goes on,

so wouldn’t you rather grab it

then it grab you?

I like it. This piece is a great feel- good piece. I especially like the part where it says to discard misery on the ground... "where the sun don't shine to be walked upon." It is a good imagery, so clever. It is this kind of lines that makes the bottom of my heart has a "ting" sensation.
By the way, is this a typo?

Allow the rains of liberty to help

the negativity to roll "of" your back

did you mean roll "off" instead?

great poem! great sentiments everyone should take heed of! a deceptively simple poem with strong ideas evoked!! the lines "zombies of the world befriend the shadows of hate" read all to clear to me! You see them on your travels clutching to the air of apathy and darkness that clings in the breeze!! very nice!

Its a sad and depressing fact that chaos continues but life, as you say, does go on! It has to and I guess, so do we, in one way or another! lol
Excellent poem love!

Better to battle then to give in. I like the logic and wisdom in your words. Too many people just give up and need to find the hope and energy to find something good in a life. A excellent poem.

What a beautiful poem with that delightful twist at the end.
Very up lifting and yes life does go on with or without us.
so why shouldn't we make the best of it that we can.
Thank you once again. I've only just met you and already I am addicted.
