Just A Memory

Just A Memory

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

I catch the sparkle in your eye

Lighting my universe like the Big Bang Theory

And expands the consolations of my heart

Into endless possibilities and pleasure

With your love my northern star.

I feel the touch of your soft hand

Giving me the sensation of humanities best

Lining my soul with riches of tenderness

Making it more valuable then gold

And you more priceless then the world’s diamonds.

I taste the sweet passion in your lips

And it feeds the animal in me

Making me realize I was starving

When it came to carnal knowledge

Cause the others just feed me scrapes.

I wake up to the sunshine through the blinds

Casting a light on the reality of another day

And the heartbreak begins again

Since I could see all these things in my dream

Until you were just a memory.

This is vibrant and so lovely.

I love these stanzas: taste the sweet passion in your lips

And it feeds the animal in me

Making me realize I was starving

When it came to carnal knowledge

Cause the others just feed me scrapes.

You misspelled the word scrapes...it should be scraps.

Good poem, and love the imagery...AD

Great progression, good descriptive lines, well balanced Enjoyed the unexpected ending. Well written. I think you may have meant scraps instead of strapes.

This is such a romantic and beautiful poem. I love the dreamlike quality ... what a disappointment to wake up to reality.

Aw, the passion and longing in the first few stanzas is nicely contrasted by the heartbreaking disappointment in the last. Powerful piece Dale! I love it!

'A dream is a wish your heart makes, when you're fast asleep ' . . .
Yeah, okay . . . I stole this line from "Sleeping Beauty" but it seem very appropriate.

As a lover of stars, I cannot help but adore this poem. So eloquent, loving, gentle and very romantic.

Keep dreaming, big guy . . . for without dreams, we have nothing.

big, starry night hugs,

S

How wonderful to have found one that keeps you so satisfied and full..............and then the part about waking from a dream. Well that part at the end does fulfill the requirement that I was taught about giving a poem some punch at the end! Take a look at the first line in the second stanza....I could easily be wrong but I sense that there is an extra word or two in it. This was wonderful in that your reader could engage joyfully in the passion....well until it was all a dream. Very nice!
