Lucifer's Magic

Lucifer's Magic

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)
"

Inspired by the song "Sleeping In The Fire" by WASP

"

It’s a sensation like no other

Like a spell of bliss was cast upon you.

The sweet potion stimulates the heartbeat

As you fly so free across the moonlight.

Bitter memories are cast out

And sentenced to be burned at the stake.

As the flame of passion ignites

A seamlessly eternal candle

That no wind or rain could ever put out

An eerie feeling begins to pierce

The deepest part of the senses

And all to late your fate is sealed

When the love potion that consumes

The chambers of your heart

Is infected with Lucifer’s magic

Blackening your soul

Until you want it no more.

So you sell it all too cheap

To the man with the horns.

Dale, hello, I missed you. This was a dark beauty. I especially loved the last 6 lines. This was a perfect description of having a conflict with the conscience and the heart. I thought, I heard you reading in Jenny's /Robert's show. That was also very enjoyable. Unfortunately I don't understand people, when they are too fast but I understood your reading. Very nice moment it was, I listened a while ago till the end. Hope you are smiling. Dropp me a line. LGandr

Good old greaser musicality, cowboy. But I believe your poetry has developed and that is an immense achievement.

this was intense yet subtle; filled with good intent that lead to the need for greed and power...

A dark piece that is still a beautiful piece. That is exactly how we fall prey to Lucifer. Vivid in description. A poetic VanGogh that would be done in swirling purples, blues and black with a hint of yellow. A dark masterpiece.

*raises hand* question!

"So you sell it all to cheap
To the man with the horns."

shouldn't it be "all -too- cheap"

other than that, i like it! Great subject too, something we can all really sink our teeth into.

You drew me in with pretty words and by the end I could feel the darkness. It's very effective. I like the power in your words and the truth that they hold. You wrote it perfectly and it flows from beginning to end, trapping the reader in the magic.
