Deceptive sounds

Deceptive sounds

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

A distant train sounds like

An early morning bird.

The closer it gets

Sounds like a flock

Ready to fly south

For the winter.

Once it passes

And the sounds begin to fade

You pray for a safe flight.

Suddenly the silence

Becomes the aftermath

Of a dream

That could never be.

those deceptive
sounds may come
and go; fading away
but linger in our
mind it seems an
eternity...

nice work

when dreams are deferred until they die.
the sound haunts us forever.
the train we missed, leaving the station.

Thank you for that intelligent review
I know that feeling all too well. Just a side note about the sounds...the ones that are louder as they come closer and the sounds that fade away are poetic. I love to listen to them and they sound so different in each season and day versus night. I think poets key in on those things and I love to read it in their poetry. A wonderful little write with a lot in it.
