This was really beautiful Dale, not at all something I would expect a cowboy to write - ha ha
But seriously, what a wonderful piece. Loved your imagery and the peacefulness which came seeping from your piece almost makes me want to believe too.
Very inspirational, think this could lift even the heaviest of souls right now.
Give your dreams the possibility of existence. Do not hold back, but allow them to grow. Others may discourage, but follow your heart and believe you can and will do what seems to be the impossible. The soft encouraging side shows through the wild bronco rider. You did wonderfully with this piece. "The colors you envision and hope to one day be.....Not letting ythe gravity of others crash it into the ground....Under the shadows of an angel wings".....Beautifully written. You rode the currents of the angels wings with this writing.
Very very uplifting piece, and the peacefulness that washes over from this piece.... I can tell your a very optimistic person....this poem alone shows signs of that...best attitude to have. If there was a such thing as a selfhelp boof packed with poetry...this would be the one to do the most helping.
very inspiring and uplifting... Positive energy eludes
from your being... I really gravitate to that!! it's so
refreshing how you have this abundance of light
around you.. I think everyone who knows you sees
that!!
this should encourage all of us to keep reaching
even when our steps of life get steep!!!!!
This is one of your most beautiful writes, Dale. Has such a light hearted feel to it. When I think of dreaming I do thinking of a freedom that comes with that. This was probably my favorite stanza:
Allow your hopes to climb the tallest of trees
Climbing through twisted branches like a maze
Using each one as a step to reaching the highest leaf.
Beautiful! Wow! I mean seriously beautiful! I'm impressed. I love the imagery here that you use in almost every line - nature used to symbolize the building of our dreams, hopes and love.
"Give your dreams a chance to fly with the butterfly
As they spread their wings to allow all of nature to see
The colors you envision and hope to one day be."
I love the way you use the wings of the butterfly to encourage us to let our dreams fly but then add the color of their wings as well - incredible - something I've never seen. People often use flight for dreams but to then transfer the colors of those wings as an added image was ingenious!
"Allow your hopes to climb the tallest of trees
Climbing through twisted branches like a maze
Using each one as a step to reaching the highest leaf."
I just LOVE the twisted maze of the branches to represent the effort of reaching our hopes and dreams. Truly original. Most of the time people use a mountain or something. But this maze imagery is wonderful in that life is so often such a confusion, and trying to untangle it is such a task - but one we can conquer if we try and then reach "the highest leaf." love it!
"Release your inner faith into the unpredictable winds
As it soars onward toward the wild blue yonder
Not letting the gravity of others crash it into the ground."
Again, love it....the idea of releasing our faith to unpredictable winds is scary - yet its something we all have to do to accomplish anything worth while. You have so captured that in these lines. And then the gravity line is priceless! Not letting others weigh you down from reaching our goals - so many nay-sayers out there. I love the way each of your paragraphs keep to a certain theme of nature. Spectacular!
"Give your love the chance to nestle in the nest
Of a heart that wants to bring it warm shelter
And feed it strength even when you have your own."
I just LOVE this! Daring us to love once more - to "nestle in the nest". Beautiful!
And of course the last lines just sum up the whole entire poem. To believe!
Dale, this is one of the BEST I've ever seen from you. I don't usually give long reviews but I am just so impressed with this poem! It's going into my favorites.
Beautiful words and set so appropriately. You have such a sensitive soul, Dale, and sometimes, well, quite often, you show amazing thoughts in your poems.
Thank you for sharing and making me feel somehow calm and calmer.
Oh Dale!
How inspiring this is, as it is filled with hope, seeing a dream come alive, and then come true, urging us to hold on as we rest under the shadow of an angel's wing!
This is certainly just where I want to be!!! And, I love the scripture that tells us of God's promise that this is exactly where we may be!
Beautiful!!
Sheila
